Jan Douglas

We love and miss Jan so much. We are so grateful for the many, many ways she added to our lives. Jan showed up for everyone. Jan added warmth, humor and humanity to our jobs at Microsoft. Jan was at our wedding. Jan was at our baby shower. Jan held our babies. Jan watched our cats and walked our puppies. We cooked together. Ate together. Vacationed together. Jan introduced us to Pasado's. Jan supported organizations we cared about and wanted her to be a part of - Canine Companions for Independence and the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Foundation (HOBY).

Jan added so much to the events and the days of our lives. We'll remember, love and miss her always.

I have so many memories of Jan. I will just say how much we all love her and will forever. I can't remember one celebration or emergency that Jan wasn't there or didn't help with over many many years. It's like losing a sister in our family. We love you Jan. Your smile and humor, your laugh, will always be in our hearts.

My favorite memory of Jan is down in New Orleans during the aftermath of Katrina. We were in the barn cleaning bowls, it was over 100 degrees, we were sleep deprived and sweat was dripping from everywhere. Her smile never left her face and her laughter echoed throughout the barn. She made every situation better just by being there.

This is my favorite photo of me and my favorite cousin, Jan Marie.  She was so happy and full of life.  We just had a grand time together.  Born only one month apart, we were more like sisters and best friends.  She even cut her hair like mine so she could wear "BIG" earrings!  She was just funny like that.  I will miss her something horrible.
