Jan Douglas

Jan's life touched so many across a wide spectrum.  Her loss is especially profound at Microsoft, where she worked in the Legal and Corporate Affairs division for over a decade:

"I am saddened to share with you the news that long-time LCA employee Jan Douglas passed away unexpectedly over the Labor Day weekend.

Jan began her Microsoft and LCA career in December 1997, and worked in support of teams in WSG and IP&L. I had the good fortune to have an office just down the hall in 1997 when Jan started work and was among the first of so many in LCA to benefit from her good humor and energetic approach each day.

Most recently, Jan served as a Finance Operations Specialist on the IP&L Finance team. Many of you worked with Jan over the years and share memories of her commitment to LCA and her vibrant spirit. Her flair for fun was reflected in her contributions to family picnics and LCA winedowns.  Her diverse set of interests led Jan to get involved five years ago in the largest pet rescue operation in history.  Jan was one of the kind-hearted people who donated time and traveled to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.  Volunteers like Jan spent many days going from house to house trying to rescue the thousands of pets that were left stranded by the storm.

Jan’s contagious and boisterous laughter will be missed in the hallways of Building 8.  Our thoughts go out to her family and friends at this difficult time."   - Brad Smith (sent to Microsoft family 9/8/10)
