I didn't know Jan Marie well, but had the pleasure of cruising with her on the occasion of Brenda Smith's 40th birthday. We had a lot of fun together. This is so very sad, and I'm sending my condolences to the family on this tremendous loss. God bless you all.

Our deepest sympathy to all of you for your loss of an amazing woman.  We have known Jan for over 13 years and feel like I know all of you through her stories, photos and cookbooks!  She loved you all very, very much.   

 

Jan meant the world to us and was the best friend anyone could wish to have.  She touched so many and we are no exception. 

 

Our love and thoughts are with you all and cheers to Jan, a beautiful soul who will be with us always.

My heart felt sympathy goes to all of Jan's family.  I can only imagine how difficult this is for you---to be without such a loved one.  Everyone loved Jan---her smiling face, her humor and that contagious laugh.  She indeed brightened every room she entered.  She was a very special person and we'll always remember her.  May you rest in peace, Jan.

To our beloved Jan. Jan, your smiling face, your laugh!!!, such a special laugh. Jan, you touched our hearts even though you never knew you did. Jan, you were the type of person that listened when we needed you to listen, and stood up for us when we needed you. I know this specifically because when I left Microsoft, you knew the reason and you stood up for me. For that, I will never forget.

Oh, Jan, you are now at peace, from what, I don't know, except for the cruelties of life. But you never complained. Once I introduced Rita Morgan to Pasado's Safe Haven, I didn't know that she introduced the to you. Thank goodness that Pasado's got to enjoy your company also!

Jan, you are forever in my heart. I will never forget how you and my husband, Jerry, used to banter and joke about. It was so funny to watch and Jerry, being very shy, and introverted, somehow you got through to him and made him laugh. It was a joy to watch. Why do the best people get taken early?

Jan, rest in peace, we will miss you very, very much. Our love to you.

To Jan's family: my deepest sympathy to you in the loss of someone so dear to you.  Jan was dear to all of us at Microsoft that were fortunate enough to work with and know her.  Jan provided inspiration to many.  She could tell when you were down or had a problem or something just wasn't right and she'd stop by your office say "so, what's going on with you, what can I do".  And she meant it!  She was always there with a laugh, with encouragement, with wit and that wicked sense of humor.  I will always remember Jan.  Bless you as you continue to mourn the loss of this bright light from your lives.  

I can only say to the family I am very sorry for your loss... I loved and respected Jan very much... She was always giving, kind, funny, supportive and always ready to be there for a friend. She was in our wedding (John & Richele McCracken)... I am sorry to say we lost touch over the years, but I can say there were days of thinking about the fun we always had when were all together for parties, backyard get togethers, etc... I worry that Jan left us being unrecognized for her being such an exceptional person, friend and family member... She will always be remembered for her caring, and giving attitude. I can say, Jan will be be deeply missed. God bless you guys in your hour of loss.

My condolences to Jan's family and friends. One could not help but love Jan instantly. A couple of years ago, we both attended a fundraiser at a little wine shop in Kirkland, to help an abandoned dog get much-needed surgery. We commiserated about the poor little guy and were amazed at the tremendous support of strangers. Then we raised a glass to his health. Or was it two? Treasure your memories. Jan is an awesome spirit and has not really left us.
